Statement of Faith:
- We believe that the Scriptures of both the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God, that they are inerrant in the original writings and that they are the supreme and final authority of all Christian faith and life.
II Timothy 3:16-17, II Peter 1:20-21
- We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and holy, eternally existing in three equal, yet distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Genesis 1:2, John 1:1-18, Matthew 28:19
- We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man in one person and that he eternally exists with the Father. He came to earth having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He led a sinless life and died on the cross as a sacrifice for the sins of all humanity. He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where at the right hand of God he is our Prophet (he reveals God to us and speaks to us the words of God,) our Priest (he sanctified himself for us, brings us near to God, and continually prays for us,) and our King (he rules over both the Church and the universe.)
John 1:1-14, Matthew 1:18-25, I Corinthians 15:3-4, I John 2:1-2
- We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God. The work of the Holy Spirit is to make evident the active and personal presence of God in the world and especially in the church. The Holy Spirit glorifies God, convicts unbelievers of sin, cleanses believers from sin, indwells, guides, comforts, instructs, and unifies believers for godly living and service.
Matthew 28:19, John 15:26, John 16:7-15
- We believe that humanity was created in the image of God, but willfully and voluntarily chose to sin by disobeying him. As a result of this disobedience, all humanity is now inherently sinful, lost and completely separated from God. And it is only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit that salvation and spiritual life can be obtained.
Genesis 1:27, Genesis 3, Romans 5:12, John 3:3, Romans 10:9-13
- We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ and his resurrection provide the only grounds for justification and salvation for all who believe. All who confess Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior are justified solely by his work on the cross and are saved only by grace through faith in Him, not by any human merit or works.
John 3:16, Romans 5:1,8-9, Ephesians 2:8-9
- We believe that the Lord's Supper, Believer's Baptism, and the Washing of Feet are ordinances to be observed by the Church. They are, however, not to be regarded as a means of salvation.
I Corinthians 11:23-26, Matthew 28:19-20, John 13:1-17
- We believe that the true Church, of which Christ is the head, is composed of all persons who, through a saving faith in Jesus Christ, have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit. Only those who are members of the true Church shall be eligible for membership in the local church.
Romans 12:4-8, Ephesians 4:1-6, ! Corinthians 12:12-31
- We believe that the purposes of the Church are to worship God, to nurture believers, to be united in Christ, to demonstrate God's mercy, and to evangelize the world.
Colossians 3:16, Colossians 1:28, Ephesians 1:4-6, Luke 6:35-36, Matthew 28:18-20
- We believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church and it is each local church's responsibility under Christ to make decisions, govern, and be held accountable for its affairs in accordance with the teachings of Scripture.
Ephesians 1:22-23, Titus 1:5-9, James 3:1
- We believe Christ will personally return to the earth in bodily and visible form and that his imminent return will be sudden.
Acts 1:11, I Thessalonians 2:14-18, II Peter 3:10
- We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead and a final judgement of both believers and unbelievers at which Jesus Christ will be the judge. After this final judgement, believers will enjoy everlasting life in the presence of God while at the same time, unbelievers will be subjected to everlasting conscious punishment in hell.
Romans 2:5,16, II Corinthians 5:10, Matthew 25:31-46
